HISTORY
Since 1979, Cristiano di Thiene S.p.A. has been a symbol of Italian excellence in leather craftsmanship. Today, the company is dedicated to identifying iconic brands and transforming them into wearable symbols of pride. By carefully evaluating the potential of each brand, Cristiano di Thiene fosters relationships built on empathy and collaboration, shaping trends in the fashion industry.
Cristiano Sperotto, born in 1929, opened his first tailoring workshop in Mossano, a small town near Vicenza. He began his journey by crafting bespoke men’s suits with meticulous attention to detail.
Cristiano relocated to Thiene and turned his focus to leather jackets, specializing in high-end shearling coats. His work soon attracted collaborations with prestigious high-fashion brands, cementing his reputation for quality and craftsmanship.

Cristiano’s sons, Paolo and Armando Pio, joined the family business. Together, they spearheaded its transformation, establishing Cristiano di Thiene S.r.l. and evolving the company from a small workshop into a structured enterprise.

The Cristiano di Thiene brand became synonymous with quality and innovation, perfecting the use of premium leathers and pioneering tanning techniques. This period also marked the company’s international expansion, with exports reaching Europe, Russia, and Southeast Asia.

Driven by Cristiano’s passion for aviation and proximity to the historic Thiene airport, the company began crafting leather jackets for Italian Air Force pilots, including those of the Frecce Tricolori.

The company entered a new phase of growth, transitioning into a joint-stock company. This change strengthened its financial base and supported its continued commercial expansion.

Cristiano di Thiene secured an exclusive multi-year agreement with the General Staff of the Italian Air Force to produce and market clothing and accessories featuring official logos of the Italian Air Force and the National Acrobatic Patrol.

The success of the Aeronautica Militare clothing line led to the opening of the brand’s first flagship store in Pisa. This milestone ushered in a period of retail growth, with additional stores, corners, and shop-in-shop locations opening worldwide.

Responding to the rise of e-commerce, Cristiano di Thiene launched its first online store, extending its reach to a global audience and enhancing the brand’s accessibility.
The Aeronautica Militare showroom opened at Via della Spiga 48 in Milan. This prestigious space became a hub for international buyers to experience the brand’s ethos and exceptional craftsmanship firsthand.

Cristiano di Thiene celebrated its 40th anniversary with an exclusive event. Guests included the full formation of Frecce Tricolori pilots, making the evening a memorable tribute to the brand’s journey.
The company secured an exclusive agreement with the Italian Space Agency (ASI) to create licensed merchandise and apparel, pushing the boundaries of its brand identity.

Following the Italian Air Force’s centenary, the brand celebrated its 20th anniversary in Florence. The event, attended by ambassadors, key figures from the company and Armed Forces marked the culmination of years of dedication and the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
